What can Ringwood do for nature?

Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan is seeking the views of local people about a Nature Recovery Plan for Ringwood

Globally our natural world is facing serious threats. At a local level, the natural environment around Ringwood has not always been given the consideration it needs and there is a pressing need to redress this balance. The Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan team wants to ensure that environmental issues feature prominently in the Neighbourhood Plan which is currently being prepared and which should inform future development in the area for many years to come. Key to the preparation of the plan are the views of local people, so we are today publishing a survey which it hopes will achieve a high degree of public interest and response.

Mayor Tony Ring said: “We are privileged to live in an area of outstanding beauty which has been a haven for wildlife. It deserves our protection. But the views of local people are critical to the formal planning process and we need to hear what people feel about their engagement with the natural environment; the importance they attach to it; and what a Nature Recovery Plan for Ringwood might look like.”
